John Erling Strand is Director of the Construction and Property business unit. At Multiconsult, he has been given challenges based on the professional expertise he brought with him as a new graduate.

– I was always in a safe haven, with capable seniors around me. They saw me, challenged me and sent me to the front in the right situations with the goal of me growing as a consultant, says John Erling.

Furthermore, over the years he has had several capable mentors and done a lot of different things in the company. He has been a tender and assignment manager, a competence network manager, been involved in project management in two major integrations of companies with between 200-300 employees. In addition, he has represented management in salary and terms negotiations for several years, and much more.

People and perspectives

– On this journey, it has been important for me to build relationships, both externally and internally in the company. In recent years, I have had several opportunities to develop myself, especially within line management, to where I am today. When I agreed to take on leadership responsibility for the first time, it was about wanting to work even more with people and towards somewhat broader perspectives. And that has motivated me ever since – working with talented colleagues, and I really do, every day! Today, of course, I am motivated by so much more than this in the job and responsibility I have, continues John Erling.

At Multiconsult, you as an employee are never fully developed. There are always opportunities to take new steps, further develop your professional skills, develop methodology and drive innovation. As an employee, this is very much about the initiative you take and show, and our managers are keen to take care of the good initiatives and ideas.
