Viktor Svensson from Rejlers will become Group CEO, while Kristin O. Augestad from Multiconsult will become Deputy Group CEO. She will also continue as CEO of Multiconsult Norway and lead the group’s largest segment, Norway, with around 3,400 employees.

A strong position in energy and defence-related assignments
“Rejlers and Multiconsult Group are two solid companies which together have more than 200 years of experience as advisers on complex projects of great importance to society. Both companies have delivered strong results over many years and built robust multidisciplinary knowledge environments. Together, we will become one of the Nordic region’s leading environments for consulting, engineering and architectural services,” says Augestad.

Multiconsult Rejlers will have a leading position as an adviser within the energy and industrial sector. The new group will also have a unique position in defence-related engineering and architectural services in the Nordic region.

“Together, we will be able to deliver higher quality for our clients across the entire value chain and across all areas of expertise. We will become a natural first choice for large and complex assignments, and a highly attractive workplace for current and future employees,” says Augestad.

Multiconsult Rejlers will have around 8,000 employees, most of them in Norway, Sweden and Finland, but also with a significant presence in Poland, Denmark, the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates. Together, the companies have combined revenues of approximately NOK 12 billion and combined adjusted EBITA of SEK 795 million. The group will be headquartered in Stockholm with most of the group functions located at the group’s largest office in Oslo.

“I am very excited to announce this landmark merger and the most significant transformation in the history of Rejlers to date. By combining forces with the highly accomplished consultants at Multiconsult, we will create a larger and stronger multidisciplinary consultancy, enabling us to continue strengthening our market positions in the Nordics,” says Viktor Svensson and continues:

“I believe that this is a perfect match. We will broaden our geographic reach, accelerate the development of our technical expertise, and improve our value proposition for both our clients and our people. I very much look forward to working with the new combined management team of the group and all the fantastic employees of Multiconsult and Rejlers,” says Svensson.

Multiconsult and Rejlers complement each other well. Both companies have a strategy for growth in the Nordic region. Multiconsult has a strong position in Norway and a relatively small presence in Sweden, while Rejlers has a strong position in Sweden and a relatively small presence in Norway. Multiconsult operates in Poland, while Rejlers has operations in Finland. In addition, Multiconsult owns two leading architecture firms, LINK and A-Lab, enabling the combined group to become involved at an earlier stage in projects across the Nordic region.

Although the group will be named Multiconsult Rejlers, the companies within the group will continue to use their current brand names. The exception is Rejlers Norway, which according to the plan, will become part of Multiconsult Norway during 2027.

Next steps
The plan is to complete the merger at the end of December this year. The merger is conditional on the owners of the two groups approving the plans at extraordinary general meetings on Monday 19 October.
