Nature mapping

Multiconsult offers nature mapping and has specialists in habitats and vegetation, birds, insects, fungi, lichens, mosses, amphibians, fish, algae and other aquatic organisms.

We have our own habitat and vegetation surveyors who work terrestrially, many of whom qualify as "key persons" according to the Norwegian Environment Agency's requirements for habitat mapping. We also have internal quality requirements and routines for mapping in addition to those imposed by the Norwegian Environment Agency.

At Multiconsult you will also find specialists in habitats in rivers, lakes, coastal waters and the sea, with high expertise in the NiN system. Nature in Norway (NiN) is a type and description system for natural variation that is used in mapping the country's landscapes and habitats.

We are one of the few consulting firms that has contributed to the development of the Norwegian Environment Agency's aquatic mapping instructions. These mapping instructions will be phased in over the next few years and will replace Handbooks 13 and 19.
